Lovely Las Vegas: Four Seasons Verandah High Tea
This week is full of friends celebrating tying the knot. I haven't been able to attend all of the events and ironically, the one I will be able to attend is the one I just recently found out about. Still, I have been excited and joyful for each of my friends weddings, no matter how far away the events are.
Earlier this week was a classy, impromptu bridal shower at Verandah at the Four Seasons Las Vegas. What I love the most about visiting the Four Seasons is that it is completely casino-free. Well, technically, it is attached to the Mandalay Bay, but within the hotel proper, you feel transported far away from the Strip. The vibe is more serene and quiet than any of the other hotels and casinos lining Las Vegas Boulevard.
The briday party was called a bridal shower tea to honour the bride-to-be, Miss A. After offering various teas (orange pekoe, traditional English breakfast, Russian earl grey, organic assam, golden chamomile flowers, or silver leaf), three-tiered trays of afternoon tea-appropriate finger foods appeared.
The scones were accompanied by devonshire cream, strawberry preserve, and lemon curd. The tea sandwiches included smoked salmon/citrus mascarpone cream on marble rye bread, cucumber/watercress on sourdough bread, smoked turkey/cranberry/boursin cheese on walnut bread, and prosciutto/goat cheese/fig jam crepe pinwheels. All were quite delicious and the Verandah arrangement allowed for each person to get one sandwich of all the different flavours. A very yummy and fun tasting process!
Dessert was also on the menu... the Verandah tea pastries included bittersweet chocolate and brandy cherry cake, fresh mango tart (the ultimate favourite among the group), white chocolate and lemon bar, and finally the roasted hazelnut cream paris-brest.
It was a delightful afternoon and a wonderful way to celebrate our amiga, A.
A recommendable experience through and through.
