Lovely Las Vegas: Doc Rando Hall at UNLV

I had the pleasure of visiting UNLV this weekend for a graduation event.

It was fun walking around and viewing the beautiful greenery and architecture... I'm always keen on blooming oleanders... Despite their poisonous nature, they are a lovely sight. So much of the campus is new and fresh to my eyes... things that weren't there when I was a student.

There seemed to be many different types of events occurring on the same day. We spotted a handle full of people dressed in interesting, medieval European style costumes walking about.

The event we were invited to took place is Dr. Arturo Rando Hall. I'd seen pictures of friends' children doing piano recitals in this beautiful hall but hadn't visited previously. So it was pretty cool to be so close to the impressive organ.

The reception afterwards was lovely too, with Swedish meatballs, pita bread, hummus, avocado dip, spinach drip, roared red peppers, grilled Mediterranean  style vegetables, etc.

Definitely a fun evening!
