Lovely Las Vegas Photography: JCPenny Portraits Outdoor

It was so exciting to learn about the new JCPenny Portraits Outdoors offering. Photos out in nature are a favorite of mine and what a fun opportunity to try this out, especially at the introductory price of $24.99 which covers the photo session fee and one high resolution digital download of one of the session photos. 

We signed up online for a time slot and were called by the photographer to confirm the appointment and give us specific details of where to meet, that they don't bring props for kids but we could definitely bring our own, etc. 

Photo site is at Floyd Lamb State Park, which is a green, tree filled reserve in the north park of Las Vegas. People are there for picnics, parties, casual outdoor activities, and fishing. You do have to pay $6 per car to enter the park. 

Even though it was hot during our photo session (and I was feeling overheated from morning tennis), the shade from the trees provided a nice reprieve from a super hot summer day. 

Our photographer was very skillful with our children and come up with some precious shots (I of course wasn't too keen on my look in most of the photos but I've been feeling self-conscious about any photos with me in it lately, so that's a whole other story). 

And after the photo shot we had fun walking around the park any finding a cute spot by the lake to eat some snacks we brought with. The boys especially loved the geese. Just had to watch out on the ground because there is an amazing amount of geese droppings everywhere, hehe.
